THE BEGINNING

Centuries ago humankind lived in harmony with its surroundings until an unexpected event shattered that peace. A gigantic rift opened, ripping the world apart, allowing creatures of mystical yet dangerous nature to enter the once peaceful world.

Over time the inhabitants adjusted to the rift's existence and various factions developed, each treating the rift in a different way. There are those who worship the rift. Those who protect the rift. But most people despise the rift and think of it as an event that was never meant to happen. A rift that was never supposed to be… calling it the Neverrift.

Powerful beings called Tamers emerged, representing their faction's beliefs and facing the threats caused by the Neverrift. Taming creatures, wielding magic and planning for their next move they wait for an opportunity to strike.

The Royal Empire

THE ROYAL EMPIRE

Justice, Order, Peace.

The Rift emerged at the very center of the world, forcing the great Empire to retreat to the northern realm, also known as the Golden Plains. Renaming themselves the Royal Empire to reflect their steadfastness and conviction as a military force, they now fight with the belief that the Rift is an impurity that must be eradicated.

Creatures born of the Rift are considered mindless beasts. However, those with natural combat prowess are welcomed into the Empire's ranks alongside their beastmasters. Disciplined and highly organized, the Royal Empire is devoted to purging the world of the Rift's corruption and restoring the lost glory of the Old World.

THE FREE TRIBES

Life is movement, Stillness is Death.

Commonly encountered in the western deserts, they unite among themselves to survive the harshness of both the land and life itself, overcoming their opponents through resilience and strength. They believe that anything can be conquered by one's own hands and hold strength above all else.

As many years passed, these nomadic clans came to be known as the Free Tribes. Over time, they became not only allies but true companions to their bestial comrades, blending human and creature blood to create a vast array of half-breeds. Calling no single place home, they instead claim the entire world as their homeland, living freely wherever they roam.

The Verdant Pact

THE VERDANT PACT

All forms of nature‘s living creations are Welcome.

Ruins left behind by the spirits of the woods attracted a very specific group of people. Sensing their lingering presence, a small circle of humans formed the Verdant Pact, pledging their remaining lifetimes to the restoration and preservation of the forests and the Rifts, protecting all that lives and thrives by nature's grace.

Curiously, their lifetimes seemed to have only just begun with that pledge, for they were gifted with longevity and pointed ears. Growing slowly yet steadily in number, more and more places of lost magic have been revived and protected, granting the Verdant Pact increasing influence across the realms. The Pact's quest calls for embracing all magic born of the Rift, believing that through acceptance and harmony, and along side the Rift, ushering an future of balance and unity.

THE OUTCAST

Maleable and the rivers, Fearful as the Deep.

Far from the land, another faction arose, inhabiting realms where few humans would ever dare to set foot. In the great depths of oceans, lakes, and rivers, the Outcast were formed—an unwanted assembly of fishlike half-breeds and creatures driven into the rushing waters, united by a single goal: revenge against the landfolk.

Originally, there were no humans among their ranks, over time, however, they formed alliances with humans when necessary and came to embrace commerce more swiftly than any other faction. Deeply connected to the magic of the Rift and its secrets, the Outcast relied solely on their own tricks to survive. Bound to the sea, the Outcast move with the tides—gathering supplies during the ebb and striking with force during the flow.

THE SWORN

Life is a Coin that purchases a greater Power.

Recognizing the flaws within every other faction, a fifth and final order formed in secret, calling themselves the Sworn. They preach the liberation of the world as it is, taking action to fulfill an ancient prophecy that speaks of restoring the one true world—even if the price is the sacrifice of the current one.

Living in solitude or disguised among the other factions, they wait for the right moment to abandon their simple lives in service of a greater cause. Only the Sworn claim to see the greater picture—one that affects everyone and everything beyond mere worldly conflicts. Their faith, they believe, will lead the world into a brighter and better future, at any material or immaterial cost. Even their own lives are a small price to pay.
